description

He was found sleeping on a fold in the afternoon — one side of him still in the black-and-white part of the room, the other side in the loud part where somebody had knocked over a paint box. Nobody woke him. He has been that way ever since. If you talk to him he listens with the grey ear and answers with the pink one.

The kind of afternoon where the kettle clicks and nothing else happens. He belongs to that afternoon. If you sit down next to him he will not move. If you leave he will not notice.

the right side of him

painted
with a
wet brush.

The kind of hour where a window is open and something outside is being celebrated and nobody remembers why. He belongs to that hour too. He does not celebrate. He watches.

Two of these open. One has the address written across it in ballpoint. That's the arrangement.
